This centerpiece platter/bowl was made by pinching coils of clay to form a drum from which three sections were cut, and it was then decorated with colored slips; it is finished with a coat of wax and the clay is still porous, it should not be used to serve wet or greasy foods which could stain it. This is a unique object, one-of-a-kind both in concept and execution. Signed and dated on bottom.
